Who are we?
CALA is a non-profit, volunteer organization that serves the community of the Rideau Lakes in the vicinity of Chaffey’s Lock(s).
Why do we exist?
We exist so that our successors
will inherit a physically and emotionally
healthy Rideau Lakes environment
that is the same and better
than that which has drawn us to
this special place.
What do we contribute?
Our aim is to maximize the health
of our lakes and their environs,
maintaining them in the best possible
state as wildlife sanctuary
and recreational venue, while fully
understanding and representing
their diverse creatures and personalities.
To do this, we are dedicated to
maximizing community knowledge
and involvement by gathering and
disseminating information relevant
to the ongoing health of our lakes
and lakesides, acting as educators,
and providing liaison between
government and our community.
We strive for everyone in our
community to be "mobilizable”
around critical matters, without
being intrusive.
